Testing services include traditional plate microbiology, chromogenic dry plates, lateral flow tests, ELISA tests for Microbiological, Speciation, Allergens, GMO, Viral Pathogens and PCR . PCR analysis uses the unique fingerprint of DNA and RNA using the highly progressive PCR technology. Turnover of PCR results upon receipt is 24 hours, allowing, in many cases, positive release for customer’s products. Product analysis, shelf-life analysis, water testing, legionella and swab analysis are carried out. Other parameters affecting shelf life such as salt, pH, water activity and moisture content are analysed. The laboratory has a team of 5 including a driver to collect samples throughout Scotland. The laboratory holds CLAS ISO17025 (Campden Laboratory Approval Scheme). The laboratory was awarded the Food Specialist of the Year category from Scotland Prestige Awards 2026/27 and are members of Scotland Food & Drink and Food from Fife.
