With three freshwater hatcheries and 57 marine farms around Scotland's west coast, Orkney and Shetland Islands, Scottish Sea Farms is the country's second largest producer of premium farmed salmon by forecast annual volumes.
Thanks to the care and commitment of a 650-strong team and 700 local business partners, Scottish Sea Farms are now the go-to name of customers in over 24 different countries worldwide: from leading retailers to boutique sushi and sashimi bars.
Primary production in the Scottish farm-raised salmon sector is focused around the west coast, highlands and islands in remote and rural areas of Scotland. Scottish salmon farming helps to ensure that some of the country’s most remote communities not only survive, but truly thrive.

Tavish Scott is to take up the role of Co-Chair of the Aquaculture Industry Leadership Group (AILG). The Group was established by the sector and is supported by Cabinet Secretary for Rural Economy and Tourism Fergus Ewing and brings together industry stakeholders including Government, regulators, aquaculture producers and its value chain.
