W&J Knox

W&J Knox have been making nets and working with textiles in the same Scottish town for 240 years, building generations of netmakers and forming sound expertise.

Knox has been involved in fish farming since the sector’s beginnings, producing a range of customised cage nets, bird nets, predator solutions and sampling nets.

In conjunction with their partners, Garware-Wall Ropes, they now also supply lice shields, treatment tarpaulins and wrasse hides.

First registered as a company in 1778, before taking on the W&J Knox name in the 1800s by the founder’s sons, Knox is still based in the same Ayrshire town of Kilbirnie, and is now owned by the local management team, following an MBO from Cosalt plc in 2004.
