  • COVID-19: Department of Transport letter of support for haulage sector
April 2nd 2020

The Department of Transport has written a letter of support to UK hauliers.

Addressed to the Road Haulage Association and the Freight Transport Association it states that the government "considers it essential that the work of the logistics sector should continue to the greatest extent possible through the COVID-19 crisis.

It goes on to say: Haulage drivers, managers, warehouse staff and all other logistics professionals need to continue to go about their business to keep supply chains moving, and government policy is clear that this applies to all supplies chains and not only those for food and medical supplies."

The letter - available to download here - has also been shared with all police forces and can be carried and produced by people in the haulage sector should a misunderstanding arise.
