The Scottish Salmon Company (SSC) chose to support the 1st Stornoway Girls Brigade with some much needed new sound equipment, following its latest round of Community Fund awards.
The 1st Stornoway Girls Brigade meet weekly, giving over forty girls from P1 to S6 the opportunity to take part in a range of activities to develop their confidence and skills, including drama, presentations and fundraising for charity.
Part of SSC's Community Charter, the Fund was established in 2017 and encourages employees to be champions in their local area by nominating groups, charities and organisations that support health and wellbeing for a funding grant up to £250. The 1st Stornoway Girls Brigade were nominated by Douglas Shaw, Marine Site Manager at SSC's Gravir site.
Lieutenant Maretta Maclean, of 1st Stornoway Girls Brigade said: "Our group of girls from Stornoway and the surrounding areas meet weekly to take part in activities that build their confidence, give them new skills and enable new friendships.
"We're very grateful to The Scottish Salmon Company for their kind donation towards our new sound equipment. Participating in displays and our annual prize giving is important to us, and the new equipment will greatly improve our productions."
