Salmon Scotland has welcomed the announcement that the Global Seafood Alliance’s flagship conference is coming to Scotland in 2024.
It will be the first time the signature event – the largest international seafood conference of its kind - has been staged in the UK.
GOAL: The Responsible Seafood Conference has a 21-year history of convening seafood thought leaders from across the globe, with a particular focus on ocean health and climate change.
Tavish Scott, Chief Executive of Salmon Scotland, said:
“This prestigious event will be a fantastic opportunity to promote the incredible quality of Scotland’s farm-raised salmon, our contribution to the economy and local jobs, and our measures to protect our shared environment.
“Our ambition is to become world-leading in the provision of healthy, nutritious food, produced in the most responsible and sustainable way.
“We will use this opportunity to highlight our sustainability charter, which includes measures to adopt greener energies, work towards zero waste, and achieve net zero greenhouse emissions in our own operations before 2045.
“I congratulate everyone on bringing this conference to Scotland and look forward to showcasing Scottish salmon to the world.”
